Today has been busy! It began with an early trip to the local petrol station to get some fuel and a couple of cappuccinos from the Vidae cafe. I then went home and had the coffee with Mike before setting off for CCFm where I spent 7-9am on air. It was really fun to be back.
After I got home, I had a bite to eat and got stuck into some work. While taking breaks I made the bed and started cleaning when my cell phone rang. It was TELKOM!!! I answered that call so fast. It was just yesterday that I remembered to log the Telkom fault at the house where David lives and Julian comes every other week. He arrives tonight. Riyaad, a contractor for Telkom explained that he would be at that house in ten minutes. I got off my work server and rushed off to Fish Hoek in time to see Riyaad arrive…
He checked one spot…
And then another…
And a whole lot in between. Eventually, he found the problem – some wire issue somewhere along the phone line. He handed me the phone and IT WORKED!
#404 of my 1000 thanks is for the phone AND internet now working at that house!
In a couple of hours Julian arrives for the weekend and he will have internet again! Happy dance! (And, I have Riyaad’s cell number!)
So it has been a busy day to say the least and I’m now going to go back to work and try to make headway in a pile of documentation. My first major document deadline is a week tomorrow.
