A Perfect Day

Today we really got it right! The weather was perfect with not much wind. Julian bought Mike a golf voucher to play at Westlake for Christmas last year and if we didn’t use it by 21st December it wouldn’t quite expire, but we would need to pay in. Now that work is slower for me, we booked for this morning and after an early cup of coffee Mike & I headed off.

The trick was to use a golf cart and drive the 18 holes instead of walking it. Normally I’m gung-ho about the 12km walk, but with the sun blazing and not being as walking fit as I was in the first half of the year, I was very keen to use the cart. They are such fun to drive, provide shade and save a lot of energy! Despite the wheels, I still put on almost 10 000 steps.

We teed off with 3 others at about 7-26am. The course is picturesque, quite flat and in great shape…

The mountain views are spectacular…

The cherry on the top is that Mike played some of his best golf ever. We arrived home fresh and I was able to do a few hours work this afternoon.

If you get a ‘perfect’ day – this was it! It continues this evening with dinner with Peter and Riana.

Thank you Julian for a fabulous gift – we both benefited! Such fun! ๐Ÿ™‚

# 125 of my 1000 thanks is that there was so very little wind today – a perfect day!

These kind of days you have to grab with both hands, wrap your arms around them and cherish the great memories they bring.

We have driven past Westlake Golf Course, so many times and never played it. Now we have. ย The next one we want to play is Steenberg Estate. They have redone the greens so we are waiting for them to open before booking a round there.

It was an appropriate Bible verse from my Bible reading this morning

Psalm 126:3

“The Lord has done great things for us and we are filled with joy.”

These are the days!

Keep the smile going!

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx ๐Ÿ™‚
