A Month Before Christmas

Today, I woke early and decided to go to gym. I drove out the garage at about 6-15am and as I did so, I noticed one of the neighbour’s garage was partially open. I didn’t give it too much thought and off I went. By 6-30am I was on the bike and cycling.

When I got home, Mike was trotting around the block. On his return, he mentioned the neighbour’s garage had been broken into last night. He had stopped and had a chat with her. She didn’t know what had been stolen. I think she was storing some stuff for her Mom. Anyway, the lock was replaced and extra reinforcements put up on the inside, so it should be okay from now on in.

It has been a beautiful balmy day. We sat out on the swing and enjoyed coffee. This is the view…

Whenever we go out to the swing, Truffles comes running along to join us. When I went to take a photo of her, she came up close to investigate…

A restful morning, lunch at home with Julian and then a trip to the airport followed. I had an afternoon sleep!

Stacey called and we had a nice long chat. It’s been a good day.

#963 of my 1000 thanks – it can be for the landline telephone that happily keeps me in touch with Stacey!

I’ve just been looking ahead. Christmas is in one month time. There are some fun activities and Fish Hoek is beginning to look a little festive in various places. When Julian and I were out walking yesterday, we spotted this fellow…(notice his companion on the roof!)

We will spend half of Christmas here and half in Swellendam. I looked at the long-term weather forecast and it looks like plenty of sunshine for Christmas Day in Cape Town. It looks like a very dry month ahead with just the odd chance of a morning shower here and there. The dam levels have dropped to just over 70% full, which is still a lot better than what they were this time last year (half of that). We are grateful for the rain that has fallen this winter and that which is to come.

Deuteronomy 28:12

The Lord will open the heavens, the storehouse of His bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands.

We trust the Lord.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂

Gym:

Bike ride – 25km – An hour and 4 minutes.

Followed by a few weights machines and some stretches. Whenever I go to gym, when I leave, I ask myself if I have contributed to my fitness or maintained it. Today I contributed, I think!

Braces:

Day 12.
