“A Grandbaby – That’s My Prayer”

Today, leaving Elsie bawling with hunger (actually she was sorry to see us go), we bid farewell to our Swellendam family of three and we headed back to Cape Town.

The day began with my daily Bible reading. As I read through John 16, I came across a verse that I had read on 27th May 2017. I made a note in the margin. It was what I prayed for on that day….one year ago today…

365 days later, look what God has done:

#673 of my 1000 thanks – My joy is complete!

Our journey home was without event. The roadworks have been largely complete and there were no stop n goes. There was a major accident on the N2 inbound by the R300 but the nice lady on Google maps told us that there was a 19 minute delay that route and so we took the coast road home. Julian and David were there to meet us and so was a very happy Truffles.

David took Julian to the airport and I lay on the bed and rested. I was exhausted. I think the events of the last week have all caught up with me. I have unpacked and put my life back together and am ready to for tomorrow.

Stacey had a good day. They are getting into a routine.

It’s amazing that Elsie has been born and that we have this momentous event now a special part of our family story. For the last nine months we have followed each step, each doctor visit, each scan, each check up and waited with such anticipation and now it has come. It’s so exciting knowing she is born and for Stacey and Adrian to now start rearing the next generation. The Lord sees her future. He sees her husband and her children. He sees her needs and her abilities and strengths. He goes before her into  her future. She is in His care.

Psalm 86:17

Show me a sign of Your favour, that those who hate me may see and be put to shame because You, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.

It could not have been easy for Psalmist David to be pursued by formidable men baying for his downfall. He kept focused.

These are the days.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
