8 Place Mats – R69

Friday

Today was the day…

I made 8 place mats for R69 and it took all of about five minutes. Mike and I went to Mambos and I spotted some non-slip mat for R69 per metre. I bought a metre.

I cut it in half and in half again..

Then cut them carefully against the horizontal line. It makes 8 perfect placemats…

8 place mats = R69 = it’s a bargain! And the thing is they have a variety of different fabrics so loads can be made.

These, however, are not the place mats to be used for Julian’s birthday dinner tonight. For that honour, I have unpacked the very busy table cloth I got in Egypt back in January. You can read how here. Great to be able to celebrate with Julian today.

It’s covered with hieroglyphics but not all the letters of the alphabet are represented so this is a poor representation of hieroglyphics! Anyway, it’s fun to have it out.

Talking of dinner, the roast vegetables are in the oven and need checking, so time to wrap this up.

Before I do, the view highlight today was watching a kite surfer rip across the bay and come very close to the paddlers kayaking around a beacon. He’s moved away now.

Psalm 56:3-4

When I am afraid, I put my trust in You. In god, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?

The best is yet to come.

Keep the smile going.

God bless you.

In His Grip,

Helga xx 🙂
