Exodus 13:14 ” With a mighty hand, the Lord bought us out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.”
This was a watershed moment in the lives of the Israelites. For generations (430 years to be precise) they had been enslaved in Egypt. God was true to His promise. He heard their misery and He came down to save them (Exodus 3:7-8).
Fast-forward 1446 years and we have a repeat. The whole of mankind enslaved to sin and once again needed saving. Once again God sees our misery and comes down to save us. Only this time there are no plagues; no ‘dead-of-night’ hasty evacuation. No. This time God sends His Son Jesus Christ to save those enslaved to sin – every single one of us! We needed a Saviour & so Jesus came to save us. But He won’t force Himself on us. He wants us to choose Him. Choose to believe that what the Bible says is true. That’s the bottom line. Do you believe? I do!
