Friday 3rd Feb 2012 – Remember the Victories

Exodus 17:14 “Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write this on a scroll as something to be remembered…”

This verse comes up right after the Israelites were attacked by the Amalekites. Moses, Aaron & Hur were on top of a hill & Joshua led the Israelite troops in a fight against the Amalekites. “As long as Moses held his hands up, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning.” (vs 11). Joshua overcame the Amalekite army (vs 13) and THIS story is what the Lord wanted to be recorded and remembered. It is an important principle – perhaps God has done something in your life. Yesterday, on air, we heard that young Joshua Afrika, who is 10 years old gave his life to Jesus. THAT is something to be recorded! When God answers your prayers, THAT is something to be recorded and remembered. Why? When tough times come and you wonder what is going on in your life, you can look back on amazing stories of God’s faithfulness in YOUR life and you can be encouraged. Plus, you can pass those amazing testimonies onto your children and grandchildren. Yes! Record God’s answers to prayer. You will be so glad you did!
